Nerang

Nerang is a suburb of Gold Coast, a seaside city in the state of Queensland. Situated close to Australia's easternmost border, the community is located some 73 kilometres south-east of Brisbane, the state capital. The locality, which is named after the Nerang River-derived from the Aboriginal word Neerang, which means "little shark"-has an estimated population of 16,066 residents.

First settled in 1863, Nerang is part of the Local Government Area of Gold Coast City. The suburb, which was an administrative centre for its region early in its history, is within the State District of Gaven (in the Legislative Assembly of Queensland) and the Federal Division of Moncrieff (in the Australian House of Representatives). The community's neighbouring suburbs are Advancetown, Ashmore, Carrara, Gaven, Gilston, Highland Park, Maudsland, Molendinar, Mount Nathan, and Pacific Pines.

Nerang, which is reputed to be the gateway to the Gold Coast Hinterland's Rainforest Reserves, has a lot to offer both local and visiting tourists. Thanks to the attractions in and around the community, there is always something to experience and enjoy within the area. Some of the best ways to sample the suburb's cultural, historical, and natural heritage include Art and Soul Gallery, Movie Stunt Experience, Natural Bridge Rainforest Circuit, Nerang River Mill, Nerang Forest Reserve, and Stinson Air Disaster Museum.
